MobiTV App For Android Is Prohibited From Working Over Wi-Fi (On Some Phones)

This is a little quirk of mobile deal-making I wasn’t aware of. Gadgetwise noticed that on the AT&T Captivate (which I recently reviewed), launching the included MobiTV app while connected to a Wi-Fi network prompts you to disconnect, and then warns you in all caps “THIS PRODUCT WILL USE A LARGE AMOUNT OF DATA AND YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL DATA CHARGES.”
Sure, and usually that’s why they ask you to connect to your Wi-Fi: so it doesn’t burden the network and/or use up all your data (at which point you inevitably come crying to them). So why does this one tell you to shut it down?

It turns out that the app maker, the service provider, and probably the handset maker all put their heads together and decided that their included TV streaming app would be network data only — in hopes that people would upgrade their data plan to accommodate all that bandwidth they’re using. Pretty evil, if you ask me, but they do warn you what they’re doing.

It’s kind of ugly, but the fact is these are the deals that get cut so you can pay $200 for a $600 device. No one’s forcing you to use them, just like no one’s forcing you to click on ads. And if you don’t like it, get a custom skin like LauncherPro and just hide the suckers.

Update: Craig from MobiTV notes below that the app does in fact work over Wi-Fi, but content restrictions (i.e. their contract with so-and-so content provider) prevent you from doing so on a few devices, like the Captivate. So it’s not a plot to sell more data.

Sprint EVO 4G To Get 2.2 Update On August 3rd

Delicious Froyo will be hitting the huge and controversial EVO 4G starting in early August, according to Sprint. The update will begin its OTA rollout on August 3rd and they expet it to be done by “mid-August.” Once it goes public, I’m sure there will be a way to force it onto your handset if you don’t feel like waiting. We’ll detail that once it happens.

The improvements we’ve been talking about for weeks and weeks are forthcoming! But will it make the EVO last a full day on one charge? Only time will tell.

Meanwhile, here’s the full press release, minus a bunch of EVO review excerpts they included.
Sprint is the first wireless carrier to bring Android 2.2 to customers using the award-winning HTC EVO™ 4G beginning Tuesday, Aug. 3

Android 2.2 offers HTC EVO 4G feature enhancements including Bluetooth® voice dialing, built-in Flash, the ability to store apps to the memory card and much, much more

The award-winning HTC EVO 4G just got that much better. We are excited to announce that beginning the week of Aug. 1; Sprint will begin rolling out the Android 2.2 upgrade to its HTC EVO 4G customers.

Sprint will be the first wireless carrier to bring1 the latest version of Android to its customers. The Android 2.2 software release provides a significant number of feature enhancements, including:
• Voice Dialing Over Bluetooth.
• Application Storage on External Memory, giving users more storage room for all their apps.
• Camera 4-way rotation allows the camera icons to rotate with the camera.
• Improved Browser Performance including a faster JavaScript engine and Flash 10x Support improving the user’s ability to view videos and available content associated with web pages.

Easy Downloading
Sprint will begin sending update notifications to users in waves beginning Tuesday, Aug. 3 and the upgrade should be available for all HTC EVO 4G users by the middle of August.

The notification will let the users know that the update is available and it will provide the simple two-step over-the-air download process.

1. Users will receive a notification that Android 2.2 is available for download.
2. Once the user has downloaded the update, they will be prompted to install the update. The user will be notified that their device will be disabled during the installation process. The phone will be ready to use once the process completes.

For those who just can’t wait to get Android 2.2, there will be an easy user initiated option to download the upgrade. Customers can access the software update through their HTC EVO 4G under the Settings Menu System Updates HTC Software Update. This will initiate the three-step process also.

Apple Quietly Settles Patent Lawsuit, Promptly Gets Hit With Another One

Ah, the good ol’ patent minefield.

According to Law360, a paywall-shielded newswire for lawyers, Apple yesterday settled a patent infringement lawsuit with patent troll Minerva Industries, whose website is apparently currently, ahem, ‘temporarily closed under repair’.

This morning, Apple was hit with another patent infringement suit, brought on by Israeli technology holding Emblaze, which alleges the Cupertino company has refused to license its media streaming technology at issue.

Here’s a quick rundown for both cases:

Minerva Industries

Minerva Industries accused Apple of infringing its patent for mobile media technology, filing suit against the iPhone maker back in January 2008, mere hours after being granted U.S. Patent Number 7,321,783.

The patent covers “a mobile entertainment and communication device in a palm-held size, housing has a cellular or satellite telephone capable of wireless communication with the Internet and one or more replaceable memory card sockets for … recording data directly from the Internet and, in particular, musical performances that then can be selectively reproduced by the device for the enjoyment of the user,” according to the patent’s abstract.

It also describes a camera and microphone that can be used to record images and sound onto a phone.

Last Tuesday, Apple and Minerva filed a joint motion to dismiss all claims and counterclaims, stipulating that each party would bear its own costs and attorneys’ fees. On Wednesday, Magistrate Judge Charles Everingham of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas promptly dismissed the infringement lawsuit with prejudice after receiving the alert.

Minerva Industries had earlier settled lawsuits with HP, Research In Motion, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia, Alltel, Boost Mobile, Qwest Wireless, Sprint Nextel and Verizon Communications. As I said earlier, there’s a patent troll at work here.

Emblaze Group

Ra’anana, Israel-based Emblaze announced on Thursday that it was suing Apple, alleging that the company had ripped off its media streaming patent and repeatedly refused to license the technology it claims to have invented and pioneered in the late nineties.

Emblaze says it warned Apple in December 2009 that the iPhone maker’s recently announced HTTP live streaming application, used on the iPhone, the iPod touch, Mac OS X and the iPad, would infringe the plaintiff’s patent for streaming technology.

The patent-in-suit, U.S. Patent Number 6,389,473 titled “Network media streaming,” covers “a method for real-time broadcasting from a transmitting computer to one or more client computers over a network”.

Emblaze’s streaming technology makes it possible to send live or prerecorded audio and video to other devices without the use of servers dedicated to streaming, the company said. The technology minimizes data traffic and provides “reliable” streaming through firewalls, it added.

The company in February also issued a warning to Microsoft, asserting that its IIS Smooth Streaming system unlawfully incorporates Emblaze’s patented technology.

Apple responds to DMCA Exemption

According to new laws from Library of Congress jailbreaking an unlocking was made legal in the US. Apple hasn’t responds to the matter directly but according to CultofMac, they have contacted Apple to discuss the DMCA Exemption that makes jailbreaking and unlocking legal.

Here is what Apple spokesman told CultofMac:

“Apple’s goal has always been to insure that our customers have a great experience with their iPhone and we know that jailbreaking can severely degrade the experience. As we’ve said before, the vast majority of customers do not jailbreak their iPhones as this can violate the warranty and can cause the iPhone to become unstable and not work reliably.”

iphone 4G Now in Pakistan

iPhone 4 brings new features that make the best phone for business even better. Multitasking, FaceTime, enhanced security, new device management capabilities and improved enterprise integration give you more power and flexibility to bring iPhone into your company.
People have been dreaming about video calling for decades. iPhone 4 makes it a reality. With just a tap, you can wave hello to your kids, share a smile from across the globe, or watch your best friend laugh at your stories — iPhone 4 to iPhone 4 over Wi-Fi. And it works right out of the box. No other phone makes staying in touch this much fun.
iPhone 4 has two cameras: One on the front, which focuses on you. And one on the back, which focuses on everything else. FaceTime lets you switch back and forth between them at any time during a video call. All you have to do is tap a button.
The Retina display on iPhone 4 is the sharpest, most vibrant, highest-resolution phone screen ever, with four times the pixel count of previous iPhone models. In fact, the pixel density is so high that the human eye is unable to distinguish individual pixels. Which makes text amazingly crisp and images stunningly sharp.
iPhone 4 introduces a whole new way of multitasking. Now you can run your favorite third-party apps — and switch between them instantly — without slowing down the performance of the foreground app or draining the battery unnecessarily.1 This smarter approach to multitasking is available only on iPhone.
Shoot your own movies in high definition. Capture impressive video even in low-light settings, thanks to the advanced backside illumination sensor and built-in LED light. Then edit and create your own mini-masterpiece right on iPhone 4 using the new iMovie app — with Apple-designed themes, titles, and transitions. It’s available on the App Store for $4.99.
Take beautiful, detailed photos with the new 5-megapixel camera with built-in LED flash. The advanced backside illumination sensor captures great pictures even in low light. And the new front-facing camera makes it easy to take self-portraits.

Nokia Mobile Phone Prices in Pakistan for 2010 and 2011

Nokia Pakistan has very rapidly grown into a huge player and it is enjoying the largest share in the market. Its rough and tough mobile phone in Pakistani market are very popular and its new smart phone series is also getting very huge reception.
Nokia  is the world’s leading mobile phone supplier and a leading supplier of mobile and fixed telecom networks including related customer services.
Nokia has equipped Pakistanis with good and great mobiles, but now its quality seems to be degrading and the prices are going up. Yes there are taxes, inflations and security expenditures, but even then the sales of nokia phones are quiet high in the Pakistan, and Nokia should provide relief to the Pakistanis and provide them with best of the gadgets with reasonable rates.
Its high time that Nokia rethink its sales and marketing strategy and revise nokia mobile phone prices in pakistan.

Proximity-based 'Face2face' App Assuages Privacy Fears

A new location-based social networking application for mobile phones hopes to attract those who are traditionally nervous about sharing their precise location.

Many people are well-versed at using the likes of Foursquare and Gowalla, which reward users with points for “checking in” at different places, but others balk at the idea of sharing their exact location details.

Launched by Pakistan- and US-based Proximate Global, mobile application Face2face aims to solve the growing problem of privacy and security of current location-based alternatives. While conventional location-based services simply pinpoint exact locations on a map, Face2face is pioneering the concept of proximity, or giving users the ability to know who is nearby without ever requiring that their -- or their friends’ --  exact locations be revealed.

Face2face allows users to tap into their existing social networks to see whether any of their connections are nearby. It gives users the ability to consolidate and enable their existing social and professional networks, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and MySpace, on a single platform -- so they can instantly access and control which friends and contacts know when they are in each other’s vicinities.

The site explains: “By using proximity instead of precise location, by withholding information from people unwilling to share their own, Face2face protects you while it connects you. It’s the first step toward our broader vision of a private, yet socially active lifestyle.”

So, for example, a user might be at a concert and want to check if any of their friends are there.  They can then use the free chat tool to connect with them if they so wish. Users don’t have to worry about broadcasting the fact that they are at a Justin Bieber/Taylor Momsen/Coldplay concert (delete where appropriate) -- they can only share information with individuals within the vicinity, i.e. also suffering the same shame.

A powerful cross-network "friends of friends" feature also allows users to meet new people in a safe and secure manner.  Built on the belief that real-world connecting requires reciprocity, no one can view another user unless that user is also visible.

Hameed Khan, Founder and CEO of Proximate Global, says: “We believe that worlds should meet, not collide, and as social media becomes more and more integral to our lives, it is important to also maintain and build relationships offline and in-person.”

“With Face2face, you are automatically and securely connected to your friends and business contacts. Users aren’t telling the whole world where they are, but rather enhancing when and how they connect with those in their extended network.”

Unlike the aforementioned Gowalla and Foursquare, there is no competitive element to Face2face.  The app is about relevant, real time information so you know when your friends are nearby, as opposed to what it describes as ‘bragging rights’.

According to Tech Review Khan says users need a good reason to share their location information, and developers need to assure users that their location will only be shown to people they trust, and that this will be done in a way they can understand and control. Social and location information can also make advertising more relevant. So, for example, instead of just offering coupons to nearby coffee shops, his app may offer coupons to a coffee shop where a friend is already sitting.

The app is currently available for the iPhone, Blackberry, Android and many J2ME compatible devices.

Nokia profits drop, CEO wants exit talk to stop

Nokia reported a sharp drop in second-quarter profits on Thursday and forecast a weak third quarter, increasing the pressure on embattled chief executive Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo.

The firm, which makes every third mobile phone sold in the world, was rocked by two profit warnings and a management shake-up in the second quarter alone as it struggles to keep pace with smartphone rivals Apple and Google.

The Finnish company has lacked a hit smartphone model since its 2006 launch of the N95, and has lost out in the top end of the market to Apple's iPhone.

Now Nokia is looking for a replacement for Kallasvuo, who has spent more than half of his life at the company, industry sources told Reuters earlier this week. Kallasvuo may be ousted as soon as this month, the Wall Street Journal reported.

Kallasvuo, a 57-year old former company lawyer and chief financial officer who married a Nokia lawyer, told CNBC television that talk of his going was hurting the company and had to stop.

"There has been a lot of speculation on my position, on myself, during the last couple of weeks and that is not good for Nokia and must be brought to an end one way or another," he said.

Kallasvuo declined to comment after the result on whether he still enjoys board support.

"I might have it, I might have it not. Its a 'no comment'," Kallasvuo told Finnish broadcaster YLE.

Chairman Jorma Ollila, who has worked closely together with Kallasvuo since the 1980s, was not available to comment.

At the annual shareholder meeting in May Ollila strongly backed management's strategy, but did not expressly support the chief executive.

"The topic of management change is more important for the share price than results at the moment," said WestLB analyst Thomas Langer.

Shares in Nokia closed 2.6 percent higher in Helsinki at 7.17 euros, helped by wider recovery in the technology sector, with the Stoxx 600 European technology index up 1.8 percent. In the U.S. Nokia shares were 5.0 percent higher at 1536 GMT.

Analysts said investor sentiment toward Nokia stock had improved somewhat since the stock hit a 12-year low on July 7.

"Markets are starting to increasingly believe in the value call. The bottom has been reached," said Swedbank's Jari Honko.

Nokia shares trade at 10 times expected 2011 earnings, according to Thomson Reuters data, a steep discount to the average of its major global peers.

Its dividend of 0.40 euros for the last fiscal year also implies an historical yield of 5.5 percent -- a rarity in the technology sector, where many peers pay out nothing at all.

Nokia shares have dropped around 20 percent this year, strongly lagging the technology index, which is up 7 percent.

HIGH-END CHALLENGE CONTINUES

Nokia's underlying second-quarter earnings per share fell 27 percent from a year ago to 0.11 euros, in line with market expectations.

It had already warned on June 16 that phone sales and profits in the quarter would be weaker than earlier forecast, with the Finnish firm forced to slash prices to battle against Apple's iPhone and smartphones using Google's software.

Kallasvuo, called just OPK in the company, said Nokia believes the Nokia N8, its first phone using new Symbian software, will have a user experience superior to that of any smartphone Nokia has created.

"OPK is saying that N8 is going to deliver the best user experience that you've ever seen on Symbian. Well, that's great, but what about the best experience versus your competitors? That's what matters and we just don't think that it's going to be enough," said Gartner analyst Carolina Milanesi.

Nokia said the underlying operating margin at its key cellphone unit dropped to 9.5 percent in the second quarter despite massive cost cuts and warned it could fall further in the third quarter.

The company has cut thousands of jobs and aims to slash annual costs at the phone unit by 1 billion euros this year.

"What is slightly concerning is the Q3 margin guidance ... Now it all becomes about the fourth quarter. The competition is getting stronger," said Kulbinder Garcha at Credit Suisse.

The N8, expected to reach the market by the end of this quarter, will go into battle in the seasonally all-important fourth quarter against the new iPhone 4 and Google Android-based phones from Samsung and Sony Ericsson.

Helped by a wide array of simple models, Nokia has been able to stop the slide of its overall smartphone market share, but has lost ground among the pricier phones with fatter margins.

Android Versus Android: Which Phones Are Winning on the Web? [STATS]

Smartphones are one of the most talked-about and hotly debated consumer electronics on the block these days, and manufacturers are pumping out more of these devices each month.

So, how are these devices measuring up in the arena of public opinion? A few 140-character user reviews can say a lot about a phone’s early success or failure, and we’ve got details on what social media junkies are saying about a few Android (Android) devices, including the Droid X, the HTC Evo, and the HTC Incredible.
In the past year or so, we’ve gone from “smartphones” to “superphones” — slick, sexy pieces of hardware with huge screens, HD capabilities, powerful cameras, zippy processors, impressive browsing capabilities and more apps than you can shake a stick at. Technology has accelerated quickly over these months, and Android devices are competing nicely with Apple’s iPhones. How they compete amongst themselves, however, is another story.
Many of these phones are selling faster than they can be built. And each one is making a significant media splash at its launch. In the public eye, is there one Android to rule them all?

Android Devices by Sentiment

In looking over data from sentiment analysis tool Chatterscope, which does some natural-language processing on tweets containing a given keyword, we see some interesting patterns emerging. Chatterscope even parses emoticons, and it can determine the difference between a moderately satisfied customer and a truly enthusiastic reviewer. Here’s what we learned from tracking Android-related keywords for eleven days.
Between July 8, 2010 and today, Chatterscope collected 13, 303 tweets about the Droid X, 976 about HTC’s Evo, and 427 tweets about the HTC Droid Incredible. Clearly, the Droid X — which launched just last week — saw the lion’s share of buzz in terms of volume. We can attribute most of this noise to the fact that the device is brand-new and getting a lot of press coverage at the time, leading to more tweets and retweets of blog posts, consumer reviews and news articles.
When we dice up the tweets into positive and negative sentiment, a different picture emerges. While the Droid X gets more tweets overall, the Incredible shows by far the best positive-to-negative tweet ratio:

And when it comes to “supergood” and “superbad” tweets, i.e. the overwhelmingly positive and negative opinions and reviews, the Incredible was again the clear winner, with zero tweets of the “I hate this phone and would rather die than use it” variety.

The underperforming device in terms of consumer sentiment, then, is the Evo. Why would this device — Sprint’s first 4G phone, which had completely sold out by June 8, just 4 days after its debut — be getting such a slew of negative Twitter () reviews? We have seen some frustration expressed over this fact, which may account for a fair amount of negative sentiment; looks like the Evo’s manufacturers need to step up their game while demand is still hot and before the buzz around other devices sweeps that demand aside.

Android Devices by Volume Over Time

Another app we used to parse Twitter data about these three phones is The Archivist, which looks at users, links, keywords and tweet volume over a period of time.
What we learned from a pure volume analysis is that the Incredible lags in terms of overall mentions — possibly because the Incredible launched at the end of April; the Evo and Droid X, which debuted June 4 and July 15, respectively, haven’t quite cooled yet in terms of media mentions and general public interest.
The Droid X shows a predictable peak around its launch date, but mentions have sharply declined, perhaps signaling a dropping-off in consumer interest. On the other hand, the Evo’s sustained buzz signals good things for that device. Overall, during a 12-day period, the Archivist picked up 63,329 tweets about the Evo, 43,025 about the Droid X, and just 6,466 about the Incredible:

Android Devices Being Compared to the iPhone

Going into this analysis of Android versus Android, we wanted to leave any comparisons to the iPhone 4 completely out of the picture. However, the Archivist showed us that consumers themselves are making comparisons between these Androids and the iPhone in a huge number of their tweets.
We checked out the lists of words used in the same tweets as these Android brand names; only the Incredible didn’t have the term “iPhone” in the top 5 associated keywords.
For the Droid X, “iPhone” was the third-most used word in tweets about the Droid X, outnumbered only by instances of the terms “Motorola” and “Verizon.” In these Droid X tweets, the word “iPhone” shows up in a full 10% of all updates.
When looking at tweets about the Evo, “iPhone” is the fifth most-used term, topped by “HTC” and “4G.” The term “iPhone” appears in 9.8% of tweets about the Evo. And for the Incredible, “iPhone” is the tenth most-used term, showing up in 6.4% of Incredible-related tweets.
For qualitative data on why Twitter users would be putting Android phones in the same tweets as the iPhone, we turned to generic Twitter search. What we saw were frank, brief, gut reactions that compared one device to another; in a significant majority of the tweets we tallied, the Android devices were favorably compared and even considered preferable to the iPhone. Call reception, device speed, open-source software, device-specific features and even hardware aesthetics were touted as Android advantages.
Granted, these tweets all represent subjective user opinions; still, these are the kinds of intuitive, emotion-charged beliefs that move product — and having these evaluations spread over a medium such as Twitter is definitely positive for the makers and retailers of these devices.
Let’s just hope those manufacturers can keep up with demand.
As more and more Android “superphones” roll out with each passing month, we’d love to know which phones are catching your interest. Should we be tracking Samsung’s Galaxy S, too? And what about the Charm from T Mobile?
Let us know which phones are most exciting to you; we’ll add them to our list of devices to track, and we’ll update you on their progress in a couple weeks.

Motorola Droid 2, BlackBerry Storm 3, BlackBerry Curve 3, and 10.1-inch Tablet Coming Soon to Verizon

Some fresh shots of the rumoured Motorola Droid 2 have emerged, alongside rumours of a couple of BlackBerry devices and a tablet releasing by the end of the year. The Droid 2 is supposed to have a 5 megapixel camera and 1 GHz processor; combined with the fact that a batch of press shots have been dug out of the official Droid Does site, and the original Droid was recently discontinued on Verizon, the tip that an August launch is locked-in is highly plausible. The Droid 2 will nicely complement the Droid X as a high-end Android option with a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard. All of the hot item Android phones right now are full-on slates, like the EVO 4G and the Incredible, and the Droid 2 is in a good spot to capitalize on the lack of variety when it comes to form factors.

Alongside the Droid 2 is some info that the BlackBerry Curve 3 might be arriving in time for the holidays, which is most likely the “Kepler” 9330, whose cousin, the 9300, is headed to T-Mobile. It’s little more than an updated 8520, but the big differences between the two are still unclear. It can’t be 3G like the GSM version, since the 8530 already offers EV-DO that form factor. Hrmmm… There’s also word that the Storm 3 could be launching by the end of the year, which by the latest rumours will pack a 1GHz processor, have a 5 megapixel camera, updated SurePress, and run on LTE (which is convenient, considering we just saw Verizon’s new LTE SIM cards). The BlackBerry Storm 3 apparently won’t have OS 6, but something “different”; what exactly that entails is anyone’s guess, but I’d wager it’s Concierge built on OS 5.

As for the tablet, it seems unlikely to be the BlackBerry tablet, since we’ve only heard that it’ll be either 7″ or 8.9″, not the 10.1″ rumoured for this upcoming Verizon device. It’s probably an Android, but LTE tablets may not not be ready until next May.

Nokia C3 Review: A Top Notch Gadget

Nokia C3 Review:
Nokia recently unveiled its new messaging phone Nokia C3. The new C3 is competitive and comes in a very affordable price range. The phone is nice and sleek with a complete QWERTY keyboard. Nokia aimed C3 for usage by heavy texters and social network users. The phone comes with 2.4” display, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm audio jack, microSD card slot and microUSB. Nokia C3 Price is relatively at the lower end and can be purchased for the price of about 10,000 RS.

Design:
The new Nokia phone has a resemblance with Nokia E72 in its design. The phone is one of the slimmest and compact messengers in the mobile phone industry. Nokia has made this mobile completely Text friendly. Nokia C3 has dimensions of 115.5×58.1mmx13.6mm. The mobile weighs 115grams. It comes in three colors, Hot Pink, Golden White and Black.
C3 comes with a 2.4Inch TFT display with the resolutions of 320×240 pixels and supports 256K colors. Display is good enough and the colors are bright.
Below the display is navigation array having four directional arrows and a middle selection key. On its sides are two soft keys, for the access to favorite contacts and messages. The call and end key are present below navigation array. The QWETRTY keyboard is good and keys are well sized and sufficiently spaced. The keyboard gives a better messaging environment and is user friendly. On the top is standard 3.5 mm audio jack. The left side has a microUSB port and a Camera on rear. In our previous review we covered Nokai C6 which is probably a lot more slick in looks and design than c3, but c3 gives it tough competition when it comes to functions.

Telephone Experience:
C3 runs on Nokia’s S40 mobile operating system. The phone offers direct access to favorite contacts on home screen. Favorite contacts will be listed at top of screen and you can make a call or text them with just a click. Moreover, favorite friend’s social network updates, like facebook and twitter, will also be available on the home screen. The home screen includes widgets that can be customized for your favorite applications.

The C3 comes with support of some of the IMs namely Yahoo Messenger, Google Talk, Windows Live Messenger and Ovi Chat. The phone also provides access to world famous e-mail accounts like Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail and others. Along with this, the phone comes with a free Ovi Mail account.

The phone comes with the standard Lithium ion battery which supports a standby time of 792 hours and a talk time of 7 hours on 2G network. The phone does not support 3G networks. This is an impressive battery figure as compared to many other phones.

The phone provides an impressive call quality without any kind of distortion. The callers at both ends have no problem. The speaker phone is also of good quality.

Phone Management:
Most of  upcoming Nokia Mobiles are blessed with practically unlimited phonebook entries and the option of photo call. The phone also has a detailed call record of every call made or received for the maximum of 30 days.
The phone comes with an internal memory of 55MB and can support external microSD memory cards. The phone can support up to 16 GB of external memory.

Multimedia quality:
The multimedia player in this Gadget is simple and easy to use. The media player supports different audio formats such as MP3, WAV, AAC, eAAC and eAAC+. The media player supports video formats such as MPEG-4, H.263 and H.264. The media player has a simple and user friendly interface. The sound quality is excellent and the phone additionally comes with the feature of FM radio with RDS feature.

Images and Camera:
The phone comes with a 2MP camera with a flash. The camera is capable of taking pictures at resolution of 1600×1200 pixels. Camera features include auto focus, 4x digital zoom, white balance and color tone effects. The camera also features full screen viewfinder and viewfinder effects. The camera also records videos at a resolution of 320×240 pixels at rate of 15fps.

The image quality is good with bright, crisp, colorful and detailed pictures. The video quality is not extraordinary and is reasonable.

Applications:
The phone comes with a HTML 2.0 browser. The phone is also preinstalled with Opera mini as well. The phone comes with Social Network integration. Other than this the phone includes some applications like calculator, currency converter etc.

Nutshell:
The phone is a collection of some of the good features at a very affordable price range. Some of the features are:
* A full QWERTY keyboard for texting
* Social network integration
* Good multimedia quality
* An impressive battery time

Nokia is Working on Meego – Tablet

Intel and Nokia have worked together on meego operating system and after seeing Intel’s early prototype tablet , it only makes sense that Nokia is also working at least one tablet , which is also based on meego operating system.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal says Anssi Vanjoki , Nokia Head of Mobile Solutions (Mobile Solutions) , to cloud computing and emerging technologies will provide mobile products to surpass smartphonen and instead include gadgets as tablet computers. Then he added quickly that meego platform is important for Nokia.

The opinion makes it so clear that there is no smartphone , but for more advanced and technologically impressive products that will most likely be based on meego operating system.

To pay tribute to its prestigious heritage and to mark its 150th anniversary, TAG Heuer has organised an amazing international round-the-world exhibition. At this occasion, 16 historical iconic timepieces and 3 major novelties will be exhibited.

The “Odyssey of pioneers” is an epic and emotional experience. The first ever and a round-the-world tour by a zero-emission GT car: a true human saga of two avant-garde brands, discovering Mankind and diverse identities; the Tesla roadster, comparable to an athlete carrying the Olympic flame, and TAG Heuer’s revolutionary watches, as testimonial of 150 years of pioneering watch making, join in the same challenge. It’s about performance and true experience, innovation and human interaction.
This sporty tour consists of a road show and an exhibition of the brands’ heritage and legacy. This luxury event visits 15 key cities and for each stop there is the inauguration of an exhibition in the presence of VIPs and press.

The special TAG Heuer Tesla Roadster, a fully electric sports car, is the physical link between each heritage exhibition and has been specially designed by Tesla Motors for TAG Heuer to take the challenge.

This one-of-a-kind collector's car includes a unique interior by Tesla Chief Designer Franz von Holzhausen, incorporating TAG Heuer avant-garde design elements and a specially designed removable console due to host TAG Heuer’s cutting edge concept watch to be revealed in Basel on March 18th. This car also features a TAG Heuer Meridiist mobile phone as well as a one-fifth second Heuer Limited Edition Stopwatch. This Swiss-made timepiece with mechanical movement pays tribute to the company founded in 1860 and evokes the mythical revival of the brand's vintage stopwatches.

The exterior color scheme is Foucault Field Gray, embodying the innovative spirit of both companies. The design was inspired by the new TAG Heuer concept watch, a technical milestone in mechanical movements, which brings technologically advanced art to life through motion.

During the Odyssey, the TAG Heuer Tesla Roadster will be driven by Tesla professional drivers, media and celebrities along the way. The driver's vision will be enhanced by TAG Heuer's Sport vision Sun and Night vision frames, the most technically advanced eyewear available to motorsports professionals that have proven to be key in the mythical Le Mans 24-hours endurance races.
