Here we are with another Android 2.1 news. This time it is related to the overly awaited and almost out of demand Xperia X10 from Sony Ericsson. The big question here is of course this - is Android 2.1 coming to the Sony Ericsson gadget. The answer is a three letter word - Yes.
Wait, before you start getting too excited, it is worth mentioning that the 2.1 version of Google's open source mobile OS won't be coming till the 2nd half of 2010 for the US folks. If that's the case, then they might be well off not rolling out the update in the first place. This just makes you wonder why in the world are the cell phone manufacturers delaying the update.
All we know is that Sony Ericsson believes that the mobile OS latest version isn't the most important thing. There are other significant things as well such as the custmoizations which they are currently pretty busy with.
I have a feeling that it would be better if the cell phone is not released. Who knows may be by the second half of the current year, next version of Android will be rolled out. Who knows? Just to let you know, Gizmodo received the device under focus for review purposes, which the gadget blog simply refused to do. More importantly, do you intend to purchase Xperia X10 when it rolls out?
